Floral is a wonderful addition to an event, but can come with a high price tag. For wedding florals, the average price of floral for both ceremony and reception is around $3,000.Thereisgoodnewsthough! I am going to tell you a few ways to save money on your floral.
1. Simple and Elegant
When it comes to floral, big is not always better, unless that is your vision. A way to keep costs down is to consider bud vases for reception centerpieces and a small arrangement to add to an arch for the ceremony. Adding a pop of color or a touch of soft elegance will go a long way.
Not only is simple and elegant help save money, it is also great for family-style meals to make sure there is enough room for all the serving dishes!
Consider simple and elegant with less floral.
2. Repurpose & Reuse
If your vision includes the full ceremony floral for the isle and arch, my second money-saving tip is to repurpose and reuse the floral for the reception in the flip during cocktail hour. Use your arch as the backdrop to your sweetheart table to give it an extended period of use. You can remove the floral from the arch and have it around the bar or sweetheart table if the arch cannot be moved. Another option is to use the aisle floral as your reception centerpieces. If you have a long head table for the bridal party, you can also consider using the bridesmaid bouquets and bridal bouquet as the head table floral. A little bit of floral can go a long way.
Consider a ceremony to reception flip with your floral.
3. Bulk Floral DIY
I have done a few events in the last year where DIY was the way to go. Finding vases at garage sales and thrift stores is a lot of fun and brings an eclectic and vintage feel to the floral. Then we discovered that most florists will allow the purchase of bulk florals to use for DIY arrangements. Start with a Pinterest or Google search for inspiration and send the photos to the florist along with the number of arrangments and they can guide you on how many floral stems are needed for each kind of flower in addition to greenery or filler.
There is a lot of fun and bonding that could happen with DIY. Have a floral arranging party the day before with your bridesmaids or immediate families. Take a floral arranging class with your besties and gain the knowledge you need to make the perfect arrangements. This is a great way to bring everyone together for the big day.
DIY for a money-saving and personalized experience.
